Joe comes from Jersey City\, NJ and has been playing guitar since the age of 10. He started in rock bands in his teens and went through an acoustic period in his early twenties after graduating from Stevens Tech. As a member of Hobo King\, he and friend Ed Bank opened for some well known folk acts of the day. But he decided to pursue a career as a chemical patent specialist and put his songwriting chops on the back burner. This job allowed him to travel the world on business and live in New York City for many years. Musical interests eventually won out and in 2012\, he decided to release a CD of original songs by playing all the instruments and recording it at home. Since then\, he has self-released two more CDs and recently finished his fourth. He spends his winters in Fort Myers and for summers\, he recently relocated to West New York\, NJ. He enjoys being a member of ACMA and is thrilled to be invited to open up for Jann. Look for his new CD\, “Thankful”\, soon available on most musical platforms. \nBill Frey started playing guitar/harmonica and song writing in 1960’s. Influenced by Miles Davis\, Billie Holiday\, Chuck Berry\, Harry Leahey\, Jimmy Smith\, Kenny Burrell\, Bob Dylan\, John Pilla\, Paul Butterfield\, and BB King\, his musical style remains eclectic but blues based. He has recorded and played venues in NYC\, Philadelphia\, up and down the Jersey Shore\, the Hamptons\, Boston and Burlington\, Vermont. His career has included stints with The Floyd Morgan Blues Band\, The Bristol Flames and for the past 30 years leading the Deep Freyed Blues collective. \nMatt Hannam is a covers artist and songwriter who performs as a solo artist and with The Collective. Matt is a former school teacher who has worked in the Telecommunications industry for the past 21 years. He has been a member of the ACMA since the founding year and is a former board member of both the ACMA and Hope by Song.

SUMMARY:Betty Soo in Concert! Roy Schneider Opens
DESCRIPTION:Betty Soo is as Texan as they come.\nRaised outside Houston by first-generation Korean immigrant parents\, educated at UT\, she grew up listening to the Great American songbook and country radio. Older sisters led her to the world of singer/songwriters\, and nights spent at The Cactus Café and Hole In The Wall turned her on to the legacy of Texas song.\nHer 2007 solo disc\, Little Tiny Secrets\, garnered heavy regional airplay; 2009’s Heat Sin Water Sin produced by Gurf Morlix (Lucinda Williams\, Ray Wylie Hubbard)\, provided building blocks to a national (and international) audience. In 2014\, When We’re Gone\, co-produced with cellist Brian Standefer (Alejandro Escovedo\, Terry Allen) placed her firmly in the first rank of songwriters working today.\nShe’s won the requisite awards: New Folk at Kerrville\, Songwriter of the Year at Big Top Chautauqua\, The Dave Carter Songwriting Award at Sisters Folk Festival\, Mountain Stage’s New Song.\nShe’s played the festivals – multiple South by Southwests\, Kerrville\, Calgary and more. And the radio shows – E-Town\, Mountain Stage\, WoodSongs\, BBC 2 with Bob Harris.\nHer singing has been heard on Riverdale and Girl Boss\, and her songs formed the musical backbone to Christine Hoang’s 2017 play A Girl Named Sue\, singled out by Austin360.com in their review as “gorgeous\, moving ballads comment(ing) on the themes of the scenes they punctuate.”\nThe future looks auspicious for BettySoo.\nUntil the novel corona-virus shutdown\, the Nobody’s Girl project was touring nonstop\, and their intelligent lyrics and tightly-woven harmonies keep their audiences entranced. The trio recorded a full-length album featuring players such as Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan)\, J.J. Johnson (Tedeschi Trucks)\, Glenn Fukunaga (The Chicks)\, David Grissom (Buddy Guy\, Allman Brothers\, Ringo Starr)\, and Michael Ramos (John Mellencamp\, BoDeans)\, who reprised his role as producer. She hit the road as dedicated support for songwriting heroes James McMurtry and Chris Smither. You’ll likely see her onstage singing harmonies at shows for artists such as Eliza Gilkyson\, James Hyland\, Kim Richey\, and more. Music programmers have an embarrassment of riches to choose from\, and listeners still have the opportunity to re-familiarize – or hear for the first time – the extraordinary talent that is BettySoo.\nIn the Time of COVID-19\, BettySoo cut a unique path through the broad streaming landscape — and as with everything she does\, she approached it in a way that invites authentic connection\, encourages compassion\, and merits listening. Her weekly Nobody’s Happy Hour via Zoom fostered an intimate and meaningful community and were hailed by many as one of the most creative streamed residencies anywhere.\nAwards\, music and more at:bettysoo.com\n\n\nRoy Schneider  opens  \n\nTickets for this show are available at the door.\nDoor Donations:$15/Members$20/General Admission\nThe doors to the ACMA listening room open at 6:30 PM and the show begins at 7:00 PM

He himself did not come to play music\, he came as a music fan and to provide support for his songwriter cousin. His cousin\, Larry Boone\, was making his mark in country music\, as an award winning songwriter and an artist with Mercury Polygram. \nFast forward to 2007\, Ray returned to Nashville as an award winning outdoor television producer. He produced RFDTV’s “Music and Motors”\, featuring Mike Curb’s NASCAR team and young country music stars in the making. \nDuring the making of the TV show Ray was surrounded by songwriters and music makers who encouraged him to write.  As a writer he signed with BMI. When a song he penned himself\, “Totch Brown”\, about a character from the Florida Everglades was being demoed\, independent artist Rickie Lee Tanner decided to cut it on his album “This Here.”  A year later country artist\, Jake Clayton cut two of his compositions\, “Down with That” and “Old Red Barn.” These can be heard on Jake’s “By the Light of the Moon” CD. \nRay is in good company\, writing with several of Nashville’s best and brightest. Publishing companies pitch several of his songs to major artists and several of his compositions have been placed on television at PBS and The Sportsman Channel. \nPlaying songwriter rounds and developing relationships with other writers and artists is an important part of improving writing skills and melody composition. In 2018\, his EP “Native Son” was released after the song “Redland Roads” went viral on YouTube/Facebook. His song and video “Lawman” also went viral with over a million views. \nRay’s Florida roots are a mixture of Country\, Americana and a new genre\, Tropical Rock. His songs\, “Mile Zero” and “Islamorada Rendezvous” have entered the top ten on RadioA1A’s Trop 40 with several other songs from his EP rising on the charts. \nLook for his EP Native Son and Island Songs on all the streaming music sites and on YouTube Music.Check. him out at.   https://www.rayboone.com \n Bob Williams has just released his fifth studio album\, The Long Road Home. He began writing songs as soon as he learned his first three chords. Influenced by the folk-rock and country-rock of the era\, his sound was shaped by the iconic folk singers of the ’60s and the singer-songwriters of the ’70s. Over the years\, Bob’s music has naturally evolved into what’s now known as Americana—a rich blend of roots\, folk\, country\, blues\, and everything in between.\nKnown for sharing the stories behind his songs\, Bob’s writing is personal\, heartfelt\, irreverent\, funny\, and sometimes achingly sad. His performances have been described as “a mix of Neil Young and Crazy Horse with solo acoustic Bruce Springsteen.” While Bob might humbly call that a stretch\, there’s no denying the raw passion and authenticity that come through in his music. And when he performs familiar cover songs\, he makes them distinctly his own—infusing each with his unique style and emotion.\nBob also hosts a video podcast\, A Songwriter’s Journey with Bob Williams\, where he takes listeners behind the scenes of his creative process. In each episode\, he talks about the inspiration behind one of his original songs\, how it was written\, and then performs an intimate acoustic version.\nOver the course of his career\, Bob has opened for national touring artists and regularly performed with The Pearl Street Band. His songs have also been recorded and released by other performers.\nBeyond the stage\, Bob is deeply rooted in the music community. He serves as Vice President of the Americana Community Music Association Generous with his time and talent\, Bob is always eager to perform\, produce shows\, and support fellow musicians. He especially enjoys playing benefit concerts and has donated his music to countless causes over the years. All of Bob’s music is available to stream or download for free on his web site. \n Web www.reverbnation.com/bobwilliams2 \nDhruva Stephenson\,  Longtime ACMA member musicians opens the show for Brian. In her own words…”Singer-songwriter\, jammer\, traveler. Loves singing harmonies and flirting around with flute\, mandolin\, bass\, percussion\, piano and other lesser-known instruments”. She is an ACMA member from the Mid-Atlantic region. Her music reflects a variety of folksy and bluesy genres highlighted by her distinctive contralto voice. Dhruva’ has released several albums of original music \n

SUMMARY:The ACMA @ The Alliance for the Arts... Concert ...Kray Van Kirk\, Frank Corso opens
DESCRIPTION:Doors at 2:30 \nShow at 3:00 \nTickets at www.artinlee.org \n$18 for ACMA members/$22 General Public. \nThe ACMA Alliance Concert series for March proudly presents Kray Van Kirk a fine finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone\, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska\, but he set science aside to write songs\, tell stories and summon heroes. \n“We are driven by myth and the seasons of the heart\,” he says\, “and the stories are all true. There is a dark cave inside each of us\, and monsters of all kinds lurk there\, all the more lethal for being hidden. The quest is to journey inside\, render the monsters powerless\, find whatever it is that burns at the core of your soul and bring it back into the light. In a world divided it is critical to write songs and tell stories that show absolutely everyone they get to be the hero. Nobody is left behind.” \nThus his songs: Thunderbird resurrects the Phoenix in an empty desert diner in the American Southwest (yes\, the Phoenix drives a Thunderbird)\, The Queen of Elfland plucks Thomas the Rhymer from the English-Scottish border in 1250 and drops him and the Queen into a subway car\, The Library Song has Superman moonlighting among the stacks\, Rosa and Hector ride through Sherwood Forest on canes and a wheelchair\, and The Midnight Commander celebrates an insane old man leading the city of New York to take up arms (and underwear) against hatred. \nOf this charming\, Quixotic\, and decidedly eclectic performer\, the Borderline Folk Club in New York wrote “it is what every singer-songwriter should aspire to. \nhttps://krayvankirk.com  \nFrank Corso has been performing early Country blues and Ragtime finger style guitar\, focusing on the styles of people like Robert Johnson\, Blind Blake\, Reverend Gary Davis\,Tampa Red and others. The originals that he writes draw their roots from this style also. On banjo\, he has focused on the early Southern Clawhammer styles\, particularly West Virginia and Round peak style Banjo. \nHis live performances will take the listener on a tour through the early styles of rural Southern Blues music and flawlessly intertwines it with his own contemporary songwriting. His songwriting stays in the tradition of complex finger style guitar arrangements and range from insightful heartfelt lyrics to hokum ragtime feeling originals.  His trademark driving finger style guitar focus on an emphasis on the complexities of the feel of the old Ragtime style piano playing. The listener will take delight in the moving and driving beat of the music. Performances also always include some searing slide guitar performed on one of his National Steel guitars. Depending on the show\, one is also likely to hear the old Appalachian style of clawhammer banjo tunes also performed on the 5 string banjo.  He has performed and shared the stage with many of the legends of this music over the years such as Brownie McGhee and Sony Terry\, Dave Van Ronk\, J. Geil’s Band\, John Mooney\, Richard Smith\, Taj Mahal\, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks\, John Hammond\, Richard Smith and many others. He currently has released 6 CD’s under his own name and has been a guest artist on many other notable Artists records. He has been a Three time winner of the New Hampshire Guitar competition in years past\, winning a recording session at FishTracks recording Studio in Portsmouth NH\, which was used to record his 1st CD.   He more often than not performs with beautiful flattop guitars that he has designed and constructed himself. He has artist relationships with both National Resophonic guitars in San Luis Obispo and Fishman Transducers in Boston Ma. \nHe is also well known in the visual Art World for his dynamic realistic landscape paintings that hang in prestigious Corporate and Private collections around the world. SUMMARY:Moors & McCumber in Concert! Bruce Gallant Opens
DESCRIPTION:A vocal harmony duo fifteen years in the making\, Moors & McCumber have done more than just endear themselves to fans – they’ve built a genuine community. Bridging the gap between classic folk rock and present day Americana\, they write heartfelt songs directly inspired by life’s experiences. With their latest record\, released in 2023\, ‘Wired to the Moon\,’ they have created some of their most compelling work to date.\nThe sound of Moors & McCumber is adventurous\, eclectic\, and endlessly creative. Borrowing from rock\, pop\, blues\, folk\, and world music\, the two multi-instrumentalists defy common logic and embrace spontaneity to bring their stories and songs to life. Their strong vocal harmonies and unconventional instrumentation combine to create a mesmerizing experience. At the center of it all is their evocative songwriting.\nPrior to the duo’s formation\, James Moors\, based in Wisconsin\, and Kort McCumber\, based in Colorado\, each led prolific careers as solo artists. They had both already released six solo studio albums and had begun developing fanbases of their own. The two met at a music festival in 2005 and quickly bonded over their shared passions. James and Kort began performing together as something of a side project\, but it immediately became apparent they were meant for much bigger things.\nWhile “more than the sum of their parts” has become a bit of a cliche\, there is no better phrase to describe Moors & McCumber. James is a gifted singer and songwriter\, while Kort specializes in creating vocal harmonies and captivating arrangements through inventive instrumentation. With their voices combined\, they create a truly special sound. As Grammy award-winning producer Lloyd Maines says\, “They bring it all to the stage and deliver in a big way.”\nOne of the most notable things that separates them from the crowd is their “Moors & McCumber Adventures.” These music themed travel tours to international destinations such as Ireland\, Scotland\, and Mexico give fans an opportunity to directly engage with the artists while sharing cultural expeditions.\nIn 2023\, Moors & McCumber recorded their tenth full length studio album\, ‘Wired to the Moon.’ Recorded at Blue Rock Studios in Wimberley\, Texas\, and at Flowers Studio in Minneapolis\, Minnesota\, this album features ten new songs showcasing the ever evolving talents of Moors & McCumber. Produced by Patrick Conway and Moors & McCumber\, Wired to the Moon includes guest musicians Dees Stribling\, Peter Anderson\, Patrick Conway\, Kris Johnson and The Fiddle Case.\nTake a listen to some of their music:https://moorsandmccumber.com/\n\nOur ACMA member Bruce Gallant opens the show. For over 40 years\, Bruce has been writing songs\, using them as a journal to reflect the different times in his life. “I started writing songs in my late 20s and have never stopped. Anything of importance in my life is in one of my songs. Writing is essential for my survival.” Bruce is also on the board of the Americana Community Music Association\, and hosts the weekly Singer-Songwriting Circle\, and can often be found performing around town. He tells the best Dad jokes ever!\n\nTickets for this show are available at the door.Door donations:ACMA Members – $15General Admission – $20\nACMA listening room doors open at 6:30 pm and the concert begins at 7:00 pm

SUMMARY:ACMA Songwriters Showcase at The Collaboratory
DESCRIPTION:The Collaboratory has partnered with the ACMA (Americana Community Music Association) to present FREE concerts featuring all-original music by talented local singer-songwriters. 🌟 \nBecause of the anticipated\, cold weather\, this show has been moved INSIDE \nThe ACMA\, a Fort Myers–based nonprofit\, is dedicated to supporting original music. Each showcase features three artists sharing their songs\, the stories behind them\, and the experiences that inspired them—much like the Island Hopper Festival or Nashville’s Bluebird Café. \nExpect an evening of professional-quality Americana music blending blues\, roots\, folk\, bluegrass\, and country. \n📍 Free Parking.        ⏰ 6:30–8:00 PM \nCome support local music and enjoy a night you won’t forget! \n   John Craddock\,   Ray Cerbone\,  Fred Ball \nJohn Lawrence Craddock is an Americana singer\, songwriter\, and storyteller with a distinctive bluesy style. His music weaves relatable stories with deep\, soulful vocals\, carried by rich and colorful guitar playing that is undeniably his own. Whether you’re drawn to songs that make you laugh or cry\, melodies that invite you to sing along\, or guitar work that impresses even seasoned musicians\, his work has something for everyone. His music is a reflection of sixty years of life experience\, shaped by the legendary multi-genre artists whose timeless influence continues to inspire today.  www.JohnLawrenceCraddock.com \nRay Cerbone is one of the founding members of the Fort Myers ACMA (Americana Community Music Association)\, Ray began playing guitar during the late 60’s folk scene. With the support and inspiration of fellow local and touring musicians\, he began writing and playing in earnest in 2010. Traveling a long road in a short time\, his music encompasses many genres\, including Americana\, Folk\, Blues\, Ballads\, and a little bit of Country. His storyteller style takes the listener to another place in time\, his music and lyrics bringing evocative insights into the many sides of life. Ray is also a singer-songwriter’s song-singer. That is\, he does interpretive covers of other great originals by little-known but very talented artists using his own creative touch. His inventive fingerstyle guitar is uniquely diverse and easy-on-the-ears. \nRay’s first CD “How Much Time”  has received glowing reviews and is being featured on KEOS Radio in Austin\, Texas\, 98.1 as well as others.  He has shared the stage with Jaime Michaels\, Pierce Pettis\, Muriel Anderson\, Rebecca Folsom\, Jefferson Ross\, Brian Smalley\, as well as Roy Schneider and Kim Mayfield (The Reckless Saints)\, and Robin  O’Herin.  He has performed at several Florida Folk Festivals in SW\, Central\, and Northern Florida as well as house concerts\, and the BMI sponsored “Island Hopper Festival” in Ft. Myers. \nRays second CD\, “Nobodys Hero”\,  which was released at the end of 2024\, was very well received and is being played in rotation by several radio stations stateside and in the British Isles.  This second effort is full on Americana and contains moving songs about the deeper side of life. Reviews of this record can be found on the website. \nRay fronted “The Apocalypse Blues Revue”. A hard hitting blues rock band formed by Shannon Larkin and Tony Rombola of “Godsmack” fame. The band was signed to Mascot/Provogue records and under that sign released two full length records\, both reaching number two in the blues charts.  Over 6 years the band played blues festivals and blues venues on both coasts. They opened for Steven Tyler\, Robbie Krieger of  “The Doors”\, The Blue Oyster Cult\, and did two tours with Kenny Wayne Shepherd.  Another record is in the works and slated for a release in 2026. \nFred Ball told us\, I got my musical start in Greenwich Village in the early 60s during “The Great Folk Scare”. Played primarily folk music until the late 60s when I started playing in a wedding band (if I ever have to play “The Shadow of Your Smile” again I might throw up).  \nMarried my wife (and 2 kids) now of 42 years and stopped playing in 1979 until 2005 when a friend who knew me from my job of teaching guitar at a local music store persuaded me to take my guitar out of mothballs and join him on stage for a few numbers. Foolish me thought it would all come back…..it did not! I did make the show and played a couple of songs (badly) but was now bitten by the bug. \nI recommitted myself to returning to form and have played steadily since then. I started to “play out” around 2008 and took vocal lessons since I been principally a guitar player in my bands. I ran a number of open mics in CT as well as played out as a solo “singer songwriter”. \nSongwriting has become my passion and I spend time each day in pursuit of that! As a resident “old guy” my hands are now showing the ravages of age but will play until I cannot! You have to love what you do……..and I do

SUMMARY:Heather Pierson Duo in Concert! Clark Johnson Opens
DESCRIPTION:Heather Pierson is a New Hampshire based singer/songwriter\, pianist\, song leader\, and performer with a passion for cultivating joy\, both onstage and off. With a toe in each of the realms of New Orleans jazz\, blues\, vocal chants\, instrumental piano\, and folk\, her multi-genre songwriting places her firmly in a category all her own\, one honed by decades of diligent practice and curious exploration. Whether solo\, as a duo\, with her trio\, or in a community sing\, Heather’s live performances feature ease at the piano and her bell-tone voice that Americana Highways says ‘sounds like timeless wind moving slowly through the trees’. Each offering Heather makes from the stage is infused with happiness\, honest self-reflection\, and a genuine desire to connect and share from the heart.\nHeather finally burst upon the national scene in 2015 after teaming up with two musicians that she met in the early days of 2010 when her life was starting over. The Heather Pierson Acoustic Trio\, with Shawn Nadeau on upright bass and Davy Sturtevant on\, assorted strings and cornet\, catapulted Heather’s live performances of her deep well of original music with intricate instrumental arrangements and stirring three-part vocal harmonies. The trio’s debut EP\, Still She Will Fly\, was released in May 2015\, and its title track was the #2 single on the Folk radio charts for the year in 2015\, and three other songs were also in the Top 100 singles on Folk radio in 2015. The trio’s full-length debut\, Singin’\, was released in June 2017\, and debuted at #1 on the Folk radio charts.\n2022 saw the re-emergence of a nearly decade-long idea of Heather’s – a group called The Potboilers\, an immersive\, collaborative\, spontaneous\, multi-genre musical experience whose motto is: ‘Groove plus melody equals joy.’ Joining Heather’s keyboards and vocals in this project are Rafe Matregrano on guitar and vocals; and Trio-mates Shawn Nadeau on electric bass and Craig Bryan on drums. They have already garnered a diehard following in northern England and a reputation for their imaginative originals and inventive covers of artists as varied as Dolly Parton and The Allman Brothers.\nHer most vibrant release yet\, Back To The Light was recorded ‘live on the floor’ at Acadia Recording Company in Portland\, ME with her trio mates Shawn Nadeau on bass and Craig Bryan on drums and percussion. Released in September 2024\, Back To The Light pulsates throughout with the grooves of New Orleans\, the beauty of Appalachia\, and Sunday-go-to-meeting celebration.\nThroughout her colorful career\, her eclectic skill set continues to propel her onto concert hall stages and into barrooms\, coffeehouses\, resort hotels\, living rooms\, and churches. Her nearly non-stop performance schedule speaks of her tireless work ethic and endless devotion to her crafts. Defying genre and classification and yet fully embracing all musical styles\, Heather is an artist who speaks the language of music in as many dialects as her abilities will allow. Her life’s work\, she says\, is to share her love of music and her gratitude for life with others – one song\, one heart\, and one mind at a time. Sharing the stage with Heather for this show will be Shawn Nadeau on electric bass.\nCheck out Heather’s Piano Peace:heatherpierson.com\n\nClark Johnson\, born in New York City\, opens the show. He spent his early years in suburban New Jersey. Picking up the guitar at twelve\, he never let go.\nMany of his early influences were the members of the Folk Revival\, including Woody Gutherie\, Bob Dylan\, Phil Ochs and Tom Paxton. The British invasion pulled Clark into Rock and Roll\, however\, after seeing Muddy Waters in a club in Berkely CA\, he turned his energy toward Blues and R&B. He wrapped up his college studies with a specialty in Ethnomusicology and a focus on American Blues and Jazz.\nMoving to Florida\, Clark was introduced to the worlds of Bluegrass and Country\, and to the ACMA. He was invited to play with thePearl Street Band for a charity show\, and he was never asked to leave. Clark’s songs range from deeply personal to tongue-in-cheek rockers to haunting social commentary. He is looking forward to playing some of these for you tonight.\nTickets to the show are available at the door.\nSuggested door donations:$15/Members$20/General admission\nACMA listening room doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm.

SUMMARY:Nora Jane Struthers\, Bill Frey Opens
DESCRIPTION:Nora Jane Struthers has been on the ACMA radar for a few years\, and we’re thrilled to finally welcome her to Fort Myers! Get ready for an unforgettable performance — Nora Jane has it all: outstanding songwriting\, exceptional guitar playing\, and a voice that truly shines. She brings it all together for a show you won’t want to miss. \nIntensely energetic live performances; lyrical vulnerability in a blend of ’90s alt country\, roadhouse blues\, rootsy power pop\, and straightforward honky-tonk… \nNora Jane Struthers has written “some of the most quietly powerful narratives within the new wave of Americana artists\,” says Ann Powers of NPR Music. The songs that last decades and weave themselves into the fabric of listeners’ lives are usually the ones in which an artist lays her soul bare for the world to hear. Struthers has built her career on these kinds of songs. There’s an honesty and energy to Nora Jane’s stage presence; a vulnerability that is part and parcel of great artistry. In one moment\, she joyfully leads the audience in a dance party… in the next\, she lays her soul bare for the world to hear. A performance by Nora Jane is full to the brim with stellar musicianship\, unexpected arrangements that blur the lines between folk\, roots\, and rock\, and an audible sense that everyone in the room is having a damn good time. \n“…a collection of songs that adds more momentum to her profile as a rising star on the Americana scene.”\n-Chicago Sun-Times \n“…a real jolt of adrenaline\, fueled by the contrast between searing\, resonant\, rock-flavored leads and fills and classic honkytonk and bluegrass lines on an arsenal of instruments including banjo\, fiddle and steel guitar.”\n-New York Music Daily \nWeb Site.    www.norajanestruthers.com \nOpening is ACMA member Bill Frey! \nBill started playing guitar/harmonica and song writing in 1960’s. SUMMARY:Tim and Myles Thompson with Gareth Rockliffe opening. ACMA@The Planetarium
DESCRIPTION:It’s been a long time we’ve seen Tim and Myles Thompson at the ACMA! We’re so happy to have them back…this time at the Music Under The Stars series at Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium. If you missed them a few years back\, don’t let that happen again. They are a super talented father/son duo that have just gotten better with time.\nThere’s something truly special about the relationship between a father and son\, and when that bond is built on a shared love for music\, something magical happens. Tim and Myles Thompson have been bringing that magic to audiences all over the country. With performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival\, Walnut Valley Festival\, and Chet Atkins Festival\, they’ve fine-tuned their craft into something truly special. They’ve also had the chance to open for big names like Spyro Gyra\, Don Williams\, Mountain Heart\, Richard Elliot\, Aaron Tippin\, and Wynonna Judd.\nTim is a session player\, singer/songwriter\, and two-time winner of the International Fingerstyle Competition. Music has always been a part of the Thompson family\, and it’s what inspired Myles to pick up the violin when he was just five years old. By twelve\, Myles was already diving into music theory and improvising with a skill well beyond his years. Now\, he’s also an accomplished singer/songwriter and mandolin player\, and he’s toured with legends like Robben Ford and Crystal Gayle.\nTim has worked with artists like Tommy Emmanuel\, Crystal Gayle\, and Hwy 101. He’s released eleven CDs and two DVDs and been featured in Wood & Steel (Taylor Guitars)\, Just Jazz Guitar\, and Fingerstyle Guitar\, which once called him “a Nashville-based fingerstylist that burns!” Tim has also taught at workshops like the Fur Peace Ranch and Steve Kaufman’s Guitar Camp\, and his original music has been featured on NPR\, Casper’s Haunted Christmas CD\, and even Flip Video Camera software.\nThe Thompsons’ music is all about original songs that mix storytelling with incredible musicianship. When it comes to cover songs\, they make them their own by taking them apart and putting them back together in a way only they can. Their sound is tough to pin down—it blends acoustic rock\, pop\, country\, Celtic\, jazz\, funk\, and so much more.\nIf you’ve ever seen a Thompson performance\, you know it’s an experience you won’t forget.\n\nThe opener for Tim and Myles Thompson is ACMA member and singer/songwriter\, Gareth Rockliffe. Gareth Rockliffe\, a native of the UK\, is a professional photographer who has enjoyed writing songs for the past thirty years. His songs are often deeply personal\, but with a universal heartfelt appeal. Gareth’s songs have in the past only been shared with small groups of friends or fellow songwriters…that’s about to change.\n\nTICKETS.   www.calusanature.org/calendar

SUMMARY:Songwriters in the Round... Grant Peeples\, Larry Mangum\, Doug Spears.
DESCRIPTION:Doors at 6:30.  Show at 7:00Suggested donation at the door $18/22\nThe ACMA is tickled pink to be able to bring these three musicians back together for a songwriting round you won’t forget! It’s been 12 years since the first PMS “tour” but these songwriters have not been sitting around on their (ahem) laurels while life passed them by. Read on for a bit about each of their accomplishments.\nGrant Peeples: A self-described “tree-hugger that watches NASCAR\,” Grant Peeples is known for his axe-sharp socio-political tunes\, raucous humor and heart-gigging ballads. He is the recipient of the Focus Foundation Award for Creative Excellence\, which cited the “humor\, compassion and wisdom of his songs\,” and their “unflinching social insight and cultural acuity.” Grant tours coast to coast and is a repeat performer at The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival\, the 30A Songwriters Festival\, and The Florida Folk Festival. SUMMARY:Reckless Saints in Concert! Bob Williams Opens
DESCRIPTION:“This husband and wife team runs the gamut from engaging acoustic folk to driving bluesy tunes\, with hints of twang sprinkled in.”—–Making a Scene Magazine\nRoy Schneider and Kim Mayfield are the core duo and songwriters of Reckless Saints. Partners in music and love since 2003\, they began recording and touring five years later. “Blue Twangled Folk ‘n’ Roll’ is the answer Roy provided to the question “What kind of music do you play?” The Fort Myers based duo decided to use his answer as the album title for their new release\, while also adopting the title of their 2018 release ‘Reckless Saints’ as their new band moniker.\nReckless Saints founder Roy Schneider was 16 and in hiding when he began making music in earnest. He had just escaped a yearlong incarceration at a controversial facility for troubled teens called Straight\, Inc. where\, among many other things\, he had been denied the right to play his guitar\, listen to or even talk about music. The saintly woman who sheltered Roy after his escape (one of the original ‘Reckless Saints’) loaned him her son’s* guitar\, which he played obsessively\, teaching himself countless songs by Bob Dylan\, the Grateful Dead and The Beatles.\nRoy’s songs have thrice made him a Kerrville New Folk finalist and provided opportunities to make musical connections with dozens of artists. In the ‘Most Unexpected Gig Ever’ category is his 10-month prep and ‘blind audition’ for Season 5 of The Voice\, where he got no chairs but did get to perform on national television slinging his beloved and well-worn Martin OM-28.\nKim Mayfield grew up in a house filled with music. By age 9 she began piano lessons\, learning the basics of technique and reading music; mistakenly believing that reading sheet music was the only way to play piano. ” I became disillusioned because the sheet music felt so stiff\, and didn’t sound like what I heard on the recordings.” Years later and eager to find her voice\, she bought a guitar on ebay and taught herself to play enough chords to sing some favorite songs. Never even considering performing as a career she remained a closet musician and worked as a hairdresser\, dental assistant\, yoga instructor and massage therapist. After a 10 year relationship\, she found herself a divorced single mom to son Max\, inspiring her to tell the story of his adoption from a Siberian children’s hospital in one of her first original songs\, “Buddha Baby.”\nThe duo spent over a decade touring and recording 5 CDs of original music under their solo names before officially adopting Reckless Saints as their band name. Their new record\, Blue Twangled Folk n’ Roll\, and the first official Reckless Saints release\, has been years in the making and was greatly influenced by the stress of COVID lockdown. Studio guests on this album include\, David Gans\, Freebo\, Lee Thornburg\, David C Johnson and Charlie McCoy.\nTake a listen to their engaging songs at:recklesssaints.com\nBob Williams kicks off this January show\, the first ACMA concert of 2026.In the late sixties\, Bob\, a young guitarist from Long Island\, NY\, began writing his own music as soon as he mastered three chords. Drawing inspiration from Folk-Rock and Country-Rock\, Bob crafted a unique sound influenced by the folk singers of the 60s and the singer-songwriters of the 70s. His writing evolved into what is now known as Americana Music\, a blend of Roots\, Folk\, Country\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, and everything in between. Over the past decade\, Bob has performed numerous concerts\, opened for national touring artists\, and regularly played with The Pearl Street Band. His songs have also been recorded and released by other artists. Known for sharing the amusing stories behind his lyrics\, Bob’s songs are personal\, irreverent\, funny\, sad\, and always heartfelt. His performances have been described as a mix of Neil Young and Crazy Horse with solo acoustic Bruce Springsteen. While that may be a stretch\, Bob’s passion is evident in his music.\nClick here: www.reverbnation.com/bobwilliams2\nTickets for this show are available at the door.\nSuggested Door Donations:$15/Members$20/General Admission\nThe ACMA listening room doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm

SUMMARY:Ben Gage in Concert! "Houseboat" Jim Visone Opens
DESCRIPTION:Ben Gage is a songwriter from Akron\, OH. Ben Gage grew up in the rust belt of Northeast Ohio\, spread out in the countryside along the great Lake Erie. His roots run deep beside the hard working blue collars that Ohio has to boast. That tenacity\, love of family\, and respect for a long day can be seen in his music. He doesn’t shy away from life’s ups and downs and sews human experience within all his songs\, artfully\, without the need to bash you over the head with ideas. In Fall of 2021 Ben quit his job in the tech-sector to pursue music full time. Now he travels the US sharing stories and songs and always collecting more.\nFolk and Blues music gives us a way to hand along a story\, and it’s what fuels Ben’s songwriting and the reason he includes the listener. The best story sets aside the complexities and focuses on honesty. You will find yourself feeling as though you’ve heard his songs before even if it’s your first time.\nFind our more here:bengagemusic.com\n\n“Houseboat” Jim Visone will open the show…banjo? guitar? One just never knows with Houseboat\, but we know it will be awesome! Jim started picking and singing back in the late 50’s in Greenwich Village. Got married\, worked\, and got back to music about fifteen years ago in Las Vegas. I’ve been playing around the Ft. Myers area for the last six years. Go catch him singing his original music around town. You will be glad you did!\nTickets for the show are available at the door. Door donations are as follows:$15/ACMA Members$20/General Admission\nOur listening room doors open at 6:30 PM and the show begins at 7:00 PM.
