Joe comes from Jersey City\, NJ and has been playing guitar since the age of 10. He started in rock bands in his teens and went through an acoustic period in his early twenties after graduating from Stevens Tech. As a member of Hobo King\, he and friend Ed Bank opened for some well known folk acts of the day. But he decided to pursue a career as a chemical patent specialist and put his songwriting chops on the back burner. This job allowed him to travel the world on business and live in New York City for many years. Musical interests eventually won out and in 2012\, he decided to release a CD of original songs by playing all the instruments and recording it at home. Since then\, he has self-released two more CDs and recently finished his fourth. He spends his winters in Fort Myers and for summers\, he recently relocated to West New York\, NJ. He enjoys being a member of ACMA and is thrilled to be invited to open up for Jann. Look for his new CD\, “Thankful”\, soon available on most musical platforms. \nBill Frey started playing guitar/harmonica and song writing in 1960’s. Influenced by Miles Davis\, Billie Holiday\, Chuck Berry\, Harry Leahey\, Jimmy Smith\, Kenny Burrell\, Bob Dylan\, John Pilla\, Paul Butterfield\, and BB King\, his musical style remains eclectic but blues based. He has recorded and played venues in NYC\, Philadelphia\, up and down the Jersey Shore\, the Hamptons\, Boston and Burlington\, Vermont. Matt is a former school teacher who has worked in the Telecommunications industry for the past 21 years. He has been a member of the ACMA since the founding year and is a former board member of both the ACMA and Hope by Song.

Drawing inspiration from Folk-Rock and Country-Rock\, Bob crafted a unique sound influenced by the folk singers of the 60s and the singer-songwriters of the 70s. His writing evolved into what is now known as Americana Music\, a blend of Roots\, Folk\, Country\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, and everything in between. Over the past decade\, Bob has performed numerous concerts\, opened for national touring artists\, and regularly played with The Pearl Street Band. His songs have also been recorded and released by other artists. Known for sharing the amusing stories behind his lyrics\, Bob’s songs are personal\, irreverent\, funny\, sad\, and always heartfelt. His performances have been described as a mix of Neil Young and Crazy Horse with solo acoustic Bruce Springsteen. While that may be a stretch\, Bob’s passion is evident in his music. In his spare time\, when not writing music or performing gigs\, Bob is vice president of the ACMA and actively supports our member musicians and the organization. SUMMARY:Damon Fowler in Concert! JD Lashley Opens
DESCRIPTION:The ACMA is excited for Damon Fowler’s debut on our stage!\n“Fowler is as expressive a songwriter as he is a singer and instrumentalist. He’s preaching an otherworldly\, Americana-themed gospel from a six-stringed pulpit. He is a roots guitar guru.” -LIVING BLUES\nFlorida’s Gulf Coast has produced a plethora of distinctive musicians\, from the blues of Tampa Red to jazz greats Cannonball and Nat Adderley to former Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts to The Outlaws. Tampa’s Damon Fowler\, a masterful singer\, guitar player and songwriter\, has absorbed the best of and furthered the work of the region’s definitive artists. A hard driving troubadour\, his music is steeped with soul and representative of the many styles that make up the roots of American music. He gained the respect of his peers given his featured slot in Butch Truck’s Freight Train band and his side gig as guitarist in the Dickey Betts Band. Critics have compared Fowler’s guitar work to Johnny Winter and Jeff Beck\, while his slide guitar is reminiscent of the late Duane Allman. Fowler’s 2021 Landslide Records release\, Alafia Moon\, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart\, spent four months in the Top 20\, and was nominated for a BMA in the Blues/Rock category. His follow up record\, Damon Fowler & Friends\, LIve At The Palladium\, garnered strong airplay throughout the United States and Europe. The new release\, BARNYARD SMILE\, featuring 8 new original Fowler compositions plus distinctive covers of Bo Diddley and Jerry Reed tunes\, combines all of the influences that have shaped his distinctive blues career.\nOn the strength of Fowler’s hybrid of roots rock\, blues\, and sacred steel\, the Florida native started wowing audiences with his musical exploits as a teenager\, building a reputation as one of the hottest young players on the scene. Adding songwriting and vocal skills to his repertoire over the years has brought him many accolades\, with music journalists extolling his originality and maturity as well as his technical guitar expertise. Allmusic.com raved that “Fowler’s creative lap steel work is what sets him apart from the rest of the guitar heroes.”\n\n\n\nACMA member JD Lashley provides the perfect opener. If singer songwriter/ troubadour Todd Snider had dropped his kid brother on his head\, he’d have probably wound up a lot like JD Lashley. JD works hard and writes harder\, trying to pluck jokes and rhymes out of the grind. His style is heavily influenced by Americana and Roots music\, and he’s not afraid to sneak in a little Hip Hop… Something for everyone.\nTickets for this show are available at the door.\nDoor donations:$15/Members$20/General Admission\nThe doors to the ACMA listening room open at 6:30 PM and the show begins at 7:00 PM

SUMMARY:Ben Prestage in Concert! Nick and Kathy Bernardi Open
DESCRIPTION:Growing up in rural Florida near the headwaters of the Everglades in gator and panther territory helped shape Prestage’s spanish-moss-covered sound\, but he had music in his blood before birth.\nBen’s maternal great-grandmother was the leader of an all-girls band (at a time when that was unheard-of) that toured the popular vaudeville circuit and performed with one of the most famous and highest paid stars of the 1920’s- Al Jolson. Her daughter was an accomplished boogie-woogie piano player.\nOn his father’s side\, Ben’s grandfather played Blues and Country guitar in a Mississippi string band\, when he wasn’t sharecropping cotton and sweet potatoes or cutting timber.\nPrestage cut his teeth performing in Florida fish camps\, biker bars and tourist traps. After a stint as busker/street performer on historic Beale Street in Memphis\, TN Ben emerged as one of world’s top one-man-bands.\nBen’s own brand of Deep South Swamp Music has been featured at some of the world’s premier Blues\, Jazz\, Americana\, and Folk festivals. Armed with self-crafted instruments made from roasting pans\, alligator heads\, and even a closet door Prestage creates a unique sound that has earned him numerous awards and nominations. After releasing a dozen albums\, and touring across the US and more than a dozen countries\, Ben Prestage continues to create music that “soars like a swamp hawk and wallows like an old bull gator.”\nFind some tunes and more here:benprestage.com\nOpening the show will be our talented friends\, the Bernardis! The duo of Kathy and Nick Bernardi started out as a couple over 50 years ago. Many years after moving to Southwest Florida\, they got the notion to try out some open MICs\, and found out he could play\, and she could sing\, and that it was fun. And so\, the adventure began.\nFlorida offered them many other opportunities\, including the Guitar Army in Punta Gorda\, the Barberville Folk Festivals in Pierson\, and The Farm stage in Brooksville. It is here they found their music family. The Bernardis offer an eclectic blend of Americana and contemporary music. Some of them are obscure songs written by well-known artists.\nDoor Donations:Members/$15General Admission/$20\nTickets are available at the door.\nACMA Listening Room doors open at 6:30 pm and concert begins at 7:00 pm

SUMMARY:RB Stone in Concert! Gareth Rockliffe Opens
DESCRIPTION:“A bluesman who has been there and done that. This guy has been down all sorts of gravel roads\, often face-first.” – Blues Revue\n\nRB Stone is not who you think he is. Far from the average American bluesman\, RB Stone is a man who has lived to tell the tale\, whose blood runs thick with the stuff blues and country songs are made of. He’s been called a Blues Cowboy\, Country Bluesman\, Americana Artist and Roots Rocker\, and he answers yes to all.\nAs a teen\, RB left home and joined a 90-man rail gang traveling the Midwest before settling down into blue collar trade work that found him itching for adventure. At 23\, he left Ohio with only a truck\, some harps\, and a guitar and headed to Colorado to work as a cowboy. RB found lodging in a barn on an Indian Reservation in Ignacio where he learned horses by day and taught himself guitar at night. His music-loving parents had instilled in their son a passion for blues and rock and roll\, and it finally took hold of him out here in the West\, where he began entertaining guests of local outfitters by the campfire.\nRB’s life and career have taken many twists and turns\, and he’s got both bruises and significant accomplishments to show for it. As an independent musician\, he has 18 albums under his belt\, has toured 32 countries and five continents\, and sold over 40\,000 albums at his shows and festivals across the world. He has a song catalog with Gwen Gordy of the Motown Dynasty at EMI. He’s had principal roles in national commercials\, appeared in national music videos\, and his songs have been recorded by artists such as The Marshall Tucker Band. RB has worked with acts such as Hiroshima and The Charlie Daniels Band. Billboard Magazine honored RB with a songwriting award\, and the man’s not stopping any time soon.:Enjoy a modern blues cowboy? Click below.RBstone.com\nGareth Rockliffe is opening the show. He is a native of the UK\, is a professional photographer who has enjoyed writing songs for the past thirty years. His songs are often deeply personal\, but with a universal heartfelt appeal. Gareth is the creator of the award-winning short-film series called Contemplations\, which blend his images and spoken words to explore themes such as love\, loss\, awareness\, and connection. In recent years\, that same reflective voice has found its way into his songwriting.\nTickets for the show are available at the door.\nDoor donations:ACMA Members/ $15General Admission / $20

SUMMARY:Pierce Pettis in Concert! Pete Benson Opens
DESCRIPTION:After a lifetime of crafting finely-wrought\, heart-touching songs\, singer-songwriter Pierce Pettis feels that he’s finally found his comfort zone. “The biggest change\,” he says of this point in his career “has been getting over myself and realizing this is a job and a craft. And the purpose is not fame and fortune (whatever that is) but simply doing good work.”\nIn his own words\, “My sisters all played piano and other instruments. In school\, I met other kids who wanted to be rock stars\, just like me. From the time we were around 10 or so up through high school\, we put together various bands — all of them horrible.”\nHis “horrible” bands didn’t deter him though and even though he had a nagging feeling (“I thought I was supposed to be a doctor or something.”) he persevered\, not only playing music but writing songs in a mix of rock\, folk\, country and R&B genres that landed him an unpaid position as a staff writer for Muscle Shoals Sounds Studios. SUMMARY:A. Lee Edwards in Concert Bob Williams Opens
DESCRIPTION:A. Lee (Alan) Edwards has been making music for 30 years. But his new music represents a rebirth of sorts. Produced by Alan Lee Edwards and mixed by the legendary John Wood (the man behind the boards for Nick Drake\, Fairport Convention\, John Cale\, Squeeze\, and Richard and Linda Thompson)\, Interpreting Heart Sounds Vol. I is a major milestone in a career that has already spawned 5 albums—3 under the aegis of “Lou Ford” and two under the handle of “The Loudermilks.”\nRecorded at the famed Echo Mountain Recording Studios in Asheville\, North Carolina\, it was engineered by Kenny Harrington\, mixed and mastered by the team at Well Made Music in Bristol\, TN\, and pressed locally at Citizen Vinyl in Asheville.\n“A. Lee is close to John Prine in his ability to be a storyteller of simpler times with a pinch of humor & partaking of the grape.” – Americana Highways\nListen to some music here:https://www.aleeedwards.com/\n\nOpening the show\, ACMA Member\, Bob Williams.\nBob has just released his fifth studio album\, The Long Road Home\, a fitting title for a songwriter who has been following the thread of music since he first learned three chords on a guitar. Influenced by the folk-rock and country-rock sounds of the ’60s and ’70s\, his musical foundation was shaped by iconic folk artists and the golden era of the American singer-songwriter. Over time\, that foundation naturally evolved into what is now known as Americana — a rich blend of roots\, folk\, country\, blues\, and everything in between.\nKnown for sharing the stories behind his songs\, Bob doesn’t simply perform music — he invites audiences into it. His writing is personal\, heartfelt\, irreverent\, funny\, and sometimes achingly sad. Each song has a backstory\, and his ability to tell it draws listeners in long before the first chorus arrives.\nTune in to some of Bob’s music here:https://www.reverbnation.com/bobwilliams2\nDonations at the door are as follows:$18/ACMA Members$20/General Admission\nTickets are available at the door.\nACMA Listening Room doors open @ 6:30 pm and the show begins @ 7:00 pm.

SUMMARY:Cliff Eberhardt in Concert w/special guest Louise Mosrie Coombe!
DESCRIPTION:“Eberhardt is better than ever…\, kicking ass with fresh insight and new ways to lament old yearnings” — Philly Rock Guide “Louise Mosrie Coombe’s voice is a gift from the gods\, and how she uses it is a gift to us” — Christine Lavin \nCliff Eberhardt knew by age 7 that he was going to be a singer and songwriter. Growing up in Berwyn\, Pennsylvania\, he and his brothers sang together and their parents played instruments. His dad introduced him to the guitar and he quickly taught himself to play. Fortunate enough to live close to the Main Point (one of the best folk clubs on the East Coast)\, he cut his teeth listening to the likes of James Taylor\, Joni Mitchell\, Bruce Springsteen\, Howlin’ Wolf\, Muddy Waters\, Bonnie Raitt\, and Mississippi John Hurt — receiving an early and impressive tutorial in acoustic music. At the same time\, he was also listening to great pop songwriters like Cole Porter\, the Gershwins\, and Rodgers and Hart\, which explain his penchant for great melodies and clever lyrical twists. \nNew York was an ideal musician’s boot camp. Though he put in long hours as a taxi driver\, Cliff worked steadily on his music throughout the 80’s\, doing solo gigs and studio work\, and playing guitar on the road with Richie Havens\, Melanie and others. Singing advertising jingles for products like Coke\, Miller Beer and Chevrolet (“The Heartbeat of America” campaign) allowed him to devote more time to his songwriting. \nIn 2011\, Cliff got a phone call from the Folger Theatre and Shakespeare Library in Washington DC. They had been listening to his song\, “That Kind of Love” along with director Aaron Posner and got the brilliant idea to hire Cliff to write original songs for the Shakespeare classic “The Taming of the Shrew”. It would be set in the old West – Deadwood style – and Cliff would be cast as the blind but wise old saloon singer bookending scenes with his poignant songs and guitar phrases. The play was a huge success and won much critical acclaim across town and 7 weeks of solid sold-out shows in the Spring of 2012. \nFind out more:\nhttps://cliffeberhardt.net/ \nJoining Cliff is the fabulous Louise Coombe. Louise started writing songs about the South – what she knew and where she grew up. In 2008\, she began working on a new album eventually to be called “Home” because she’d come full circle in her “voice” as a writer. The album was a mix of bluegrass\, country and folk and as she weaved in lush stories and songs about southern life\, she was even introduced once as “…William Faulkner with a guitar.” \nThe first thing most people remark on is her voice.
