DESCRIPTION:Mare Wakefield & Nomad remind us of what it means to feel the sweetness in a song and hear the smiles and the tears in shared stories. Skilled in varied musical styles\, they keep an audience engaged and delighted.” ~ Dalis Allen\, Producer Kerrville Folk Festival \nWe may not be able to meet in person but we can still enjoy live music via ZOOM. Zoom is an easy to use platform that allows the audience to once again be present when the musician is performing.\nWe will be able to see and hear Mare and Nomad and to see other audience members if you choose. If you are not familiar with Zoom check it out at www.zoom. \nRSVP to aliceacma@aol.com….the zoom link will be provided and folks will be able to join the concert up to 6 PM the day of the event There will be a virtual tip jar online for those that wish to donate to the musicians. However\, donations are not required to join the concert. \nYou do NOT have to pre-download Zoom into your computer to attend. The Link will bring you to the right place. \nAs always\, thank you for supporting live music in all the ways that you do. \nSome ZOOM tips:\nWearing headphones or ear buds will increase the sound quality\,\nbut you can also listen without them. \nIf you using a computer\, after clicking the link you will get a screen that asks something like ‘Launch Zoom’? Your answer will be yes! If you are accessing from a phone\, ipad or other tablet\, you’ll need the Zoom app downloaded before you click the link. \nWhen ‘entering’ the broadcast\, we will have your video on—meaning everyone sees you. If you don’t want your video on—you can turn it off—in the lower left corner—click ‘stop video.’\nYou will be asked if you want to join with audio—you say ‘yes’ so that you can hear the show. \nWe will have your microphone muted so we don’t hear you. Occasionally we will unmute the audience for applause and Q & A\, etc. \nYou will notice a ‘Chat’ feature at the bottom of your screen. (It’s a little dialogue bubble) You can chat to your fellow audience members by typing a message there. You can send your message to everyone in the ‘room’ or private message to individuals.

DESCRIPTION:Tune in to our FB page for music from ACMA member Karen Cohen! Karen would have been opening for The Divebombers on July 11th on our ACMA stage…\,sadly\, that’s not going to happen BUT Karen will bring us some tunes that she would have played on our stage.\nSo mark your calendars to tune in to our ACMA public page for some great music. \nKaren got her start playing the guitar with her sister\, a few friends\, and trying to sound out the chords from old records. She learned to fingerpick\, at USDAN\, a summer music camp on\nLong Island NY. Then\, too shy to sing and perform\, she turned to the Visual Arts as a young adult. \nIn more recent years\, Karen was able to gain confidence with the enthusiastic support of a wonderful community of musicians here in Southwest Florida. \nDuring these “Guitar Revival” years\, she was Affectionately penned “The Acoustic Queen”\nat open mics and jam circles around the Punta Gorda\, and Englewood areas. \nShe is a long time member of the Ghilcrest Guitar Army and has attended the Swannanoa Gathering in North Carolina over the past few years. \nFor more than a decade\, Karen has worked on arrangements of Mississippi Delta Blues and Slide Guitar. \nShe began by emulating Rory Block\, who is renowned for her authentic renditions of that genre. In Karen’s words…I had never heard a woman playing “old style” Blues before and it had a profound effect on me. I did not know women could play like that\, so before I heard Rory Block\, it never occurred to me to try. “ \nBut Karen loves all kinds of music and\, continues to expand her repertoire\, now adding quite a few originals originals to her list.
