A writer with the Huffington Post says this\, “Mia’s voice is an instrument of exquisite beauty.”\nA native of uptown New Orleans\, Mia Borders’ powerhouse vocals and compelling songwriting have made her a perennial figure in the regional music scene.\nHeralded locally and nationally as one of the city’s best talents\, Borders has been featured on AXS.tv’s coverage of The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. She has toured in venues all over the U.S. Mia has shared bills with B.B. King\, Corinne Bailey Rae\, Lee Fields\, and Marc Broussard\, among others.\nHer live shows are regularly praised as “deeply funky” (USA Today) and “confident and cool” (The Times-Picayune). This violin\, guitar\, bass and drum quartet are Roots and Roll that Rocks.\n“If Johnny Cash and Freddy King had a baby it would be the Nouveaux Honkies\,” said the Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel.”\n\nBouncing around the country for the last 10 years\, the Nouveaux Honkies currently spread their time between East Tennessee and Southern Florida. As far as what one will hear when they perform\, they consider it genre neutral. They play songs they wrote and songs they wish they wrote.
