SUMMARY:Mia Borders in Concert! Casey Page Culbreth opens
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to have a new face gracing our ACMA stage. A writer with the Huffington Post says this\, “Mia’s voice is an instrument of exquisite beauty.”\nA native of uptown New Orleans\, Mia Borders’ powerhouse vocals and compelling songwriting have made her a perennial figure in the regional music scene.\nHeralded locally and nationally as one of the city’s best talents\, Borders has been featured on AXS.tv’s coverage of The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. She has toured in venues all over the U.S. Mia has shared bills with B.B. King\, Corinne Bailey Rae\, Lee Fields\, and Marc Broussard\, among others.\nHer live shows are regularly praised as “deeply funky” (USA Today) and “confident and cool” (The Times-Picayune). Borders herself is “a chanteuse of the highest order” with “miles of style and charisma” (AXS.com).\nHer expansive catalogue includes six LPs\, various live albums\, five singles\, and three EPs – including 2019’s “well-steeped in classic soul” Good Side of Bad (Offbeat Magazine). 2021 brings Borders’ latest self-produced singles\, “Sweater Weather” and “Right on Time\,” released under Borders’ own label\, Blaxican Records.\nFor more information\, visit www.miaborders.com.\nOpening the show is new ACMA member Casey Page Culbreth. Casey has been a singer/songwriter for over 20 years. Originally from Kentucky\, Casey now resides and creates from her home in Cape Coral\, FL. The ACMA is fortunate to have so much talent in our own backyard. SUMMARY:The Nouveaux Honkies @ ACMA @ ShellPoint Tribby Arts Center
DESCRIPTION:The ACMA @ ShellPoint Americana Series is happening again! We are thrilled to join with Shellpoint to host events at the beautiful Tribby Arts Center and the Noveaux Honkies\, Rebecca Dawkins and Tim O’Connell kick it off!\nFrom way down South\, here come The Nouveaux Honkies. This violin\, guitar\, bass and drum quartet are Roots and Roll that Rocks.\n“If Johnny Cash and Freddy King had a baby it would be the Nouveaux Honkies\,” said the Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel.”\n\nBouncing around the country for the last 10 years\, the Nouveaux Honkies currently spread their time between East Tennessee and Southern Florida. Yes\, some would call them “snowbirds”\, but they will declare themselves bi-statual. That’s not a word\, but it will be. As far as what one will hear when they perform\, they consider it genre neutral. They play songs they wrote and songs they wish they wrote. If you wanna get picky it’s called “mother lovin’\, country folkin’ blues”. Catch a show and you will end up smiling.\nhttps://tnhband.com.\nTickets available now. All seats $25\nThe Tribby Art Center at Shell Point is an amazing state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of 400. Once you walk through the heavy oak doors the acoustics are astounding\, creating a perfect space for concerts. Along with the top-notch lighting these shows …..picture perfect!\nTribby Arts Center at Shell Point Retirement Community\n17281 On Par Blvd.\nFort Myers\, FL 33908\nDoors open at 6:30 PM.\nhttps://www.tribbyartscenter.com/boxoffice/
