Feed Florida is a weekly ACMA sponsored event raising money for our local food bank. Each Monday will feature a different musical guest with all proceeds going directly to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida.
Hosting the series is ACMA member Kim Mayfield.
This week our featured act is Millie Orosz VanHorn.
Millie began performing 20 years ago after retiring to SW Florida, though she always loved to sing. She started playing piano by ear at age 3, and then taught herself to play guitar. Her song ‘The Empty Chair’ won a People’s Choice Award in a songwriting contest at the Sidney Berne Davis Art Center. She’s become a prolific songwriter, and has also written two children’s books.
During the recent lockdown Millie found an audience of her neighbors, playing socially distanced concerts from her condo balcony!
