Hank Woji and Friends in concert!! Chakulla opens

Join us for the final concert of the season at our All Faiths Venue! Touring musician and ACMA member Hank Woji takes the stage with a merry band of friends.
For over 15 years, as a bassist, band leader and later a percussionist, Hank was a driving force in some of the Jersey Shore’s most dynamic and innovative bands, opening for or performing with, such diverse artists as: Jimmy Cliff, Hot Tuna, The Smithereens, The Wailers, Toots & the Maytals, The Radiators, The Drifters, Jon Bon Jovi, Room Full of Blues, Johnny Winter, Clarence Clemons, Johnny Johnson, John Hammond Jr., The Nighthawks and Bruce Springsteen.
In the Spring of 2001 Hank moved from New York City to Houston, TX and began to focus primarily on songwriting. Critics have described Hank’s music as being “…in the best tradition of the Texas troubadours like Guy Clarke, Townes Van Zandt and Butch Hancock.”
As a performing Singer/Songwriter, Hank has shared the stage or performed with such notable songwriters as: Jonathan Byrd, David Massengill, Amy Speace, Shake Russell, Ronnie Elliott, Dana Cooper, Butch Hancock, Kinky Friedman and Pete Seeger.
Hank has released five self produced CDs as a songwriter: Medallion in 2005; American Dreams in 2008; There Was A Time in 2010; Holy Ghost Town in 2013; and The Working Life in 2014.
A proud union member of AFM Local 1000, he currently resides in Terlingua, TX and tours nationally, performing at coffeehouses, theaters, clubs, festivals and house concerts throughout the US.
Opening the show for Hank is ACMA member musician Chakulla. Chakulla hails from Punta Gorda where he donates his time and talent to his Hunger Bus Project and The Happy Place!
Chakulla (affectionately known as Grandfather Chakulla) is an individual, expressing his music with an organic grove of worldly rhythm’s, unique guitar cords, catchy and memorable melodies. He sings out with an acoustic guitar using a loop pedal enabling leads, harmonica, marimba, conga’s, percussion, and vocal percussion lines to manifest on the spot and live .
He is best described as the Folk/World/Jazz/Americana artist, and in his 4 decades of writing and playing music Chakulla has shared his music at concert venues seating 60,000 people, and in Clubs, at House concerts, Festivals, TV and radio appearances, and singing out in the streets.
He has shared the stage with Richie Havens, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Buddy Miles, Aztec Two step, etc. Chakulla has a profound effect on audiences connecting, including, inspiring, and inviting them to participate and to sing along leaving them with a smile.
